Red, in the
midst of a job hunt, discovers a local muffler shop is out of business
and decides to purchase it. Meanwhile, the "new Eric," as part of
his year off plan, decides he wants to have some fun at the expense
of others and decides to vandalize a local business. He targets
that same muffler shop Red bought, not knowing it's now owned by
his dad. Eric, Hyde and Fez use spray paint to cross out the "ler"
in the "muffler" signs. Red is livid, and when he discovers Eric's
bubble gum ice cream at the scene of the crime, he's found his culprit.
His mission failed, Eric decides he doesn't like the new, risk taking
Eric and vows to return to his old self, until Donna tells him how
hot the new him was. Realizing he's hardly ever come across as "hot,"
Eric confronts Red, telling him he's going to accept his apology
and then sit down for a beer with he and Donna. When Red refuses,
Eric defiantly "chugs" a couple sips of his beer and marches off
to his room. Jackie presses Hyde to call his father. When Hyde fails
to bite, she brings Kitty in to help. Eventually warn down by their
nagging, he relents and calls his father. Kelso becomes a proud
new father of a baby girl. As a bonus, he finds his fatherhood has
made him even more attractive to women. He puts this theory to the
test on his date with Kimberly. Things take a turn when he realizes
Kimberly is somebody's daughter. He goes to her dad to get his permission,
as a fellow father, to proceed as planned with his daughter. His
request is refused.
