When the gang reminices about childhood troublemaking, including
trenching Old Man Shinsky’s yard, Eric realizes he wasn’t
there and feels like he missed an important life moment. To make
up for the missed opportunity, he’s not only gonna trench
Shinsky’s yard, but he’s gonna moon him. Everything
goes as planned until the car gets stuck in the lawn. As Eric struggles
to free the car, he friends abandon him. The cops come and Eric
is thrown in jail. His night gets worse when Kelso takes over the
night shift and proceeds to harass Eric for not naming him First
Lieutenant on the trenching job. Old Man Shinsky arrives and identifies
Kelso as a participant. He’s thrown in the cell with Eric.
After reading an article in “Cosmo” about how to cure
medium to low self-esteem, Kitty decides to throw a party for herself.
At the party, Bob gets upset when he sees Midge flirting with Hyde’s
father, W.B. They argue and an upset Midge winds up locking herself
in Red and Kitty’s bathroom. Kitty’s angry that she’s
been upstaged at her own party. After hashing things out with Bob
in Red and Kitty’s shower, Midge flies back to California
the next morning.
The gang points out to Hyde that he’s becoming too corporate.
They tease him even more when he chooses to hang out with his father
at Kitty’s party rather than partaking in the trenching. When
he realizes that he spent the night at a cocktail party while Eric
would up in jail, he’s determined to break some laws. The
next morning, he winds up in jail with Kelso after “properly
trenching” Old Man Shinsky’s lawn.
