Kelso brings a huge bag of toys over to the basement. He thinks
someone just left it at the police station for the cops to enjoy,
but the guys point out that they're from the toy drive, for needy
kids. They justify keeping some and decide to only open one each.
Twenty-seven minutes later they're all ripped open and the guys
are searching for batteries.
Kitty is excited to be planning the Ladies of Point Place (LOPP)
Christmas party, and Jackie and Donna are helping, but her rival
Patty Ryals comes over to announce that she's taking it over, because
Kitty is unreliable (due to her spiking the wrong punch bowl at
the 1973 party). Hyde tells Jackie he can't go with her to the party
because something came up, but soon she discovers he's blowing her
off to play with toys and is irate. Donna and Jackie are both upset
with their childish boyfriends and head off to the party with Kitty.
At the party, Bob, dressed as Santa, is enamored with Patty Ryals,
but the feeling isn't mutual. Red shows up, tells Kitty the toys
they're supposed to be giving away to kids were stolen from the
police station. Since that's the only thing Kitty was left in charge
of, she panics and tells Red to go to their house and find anything
to wrap up and give away. Red finds the guys with the toys and is
enraged. Eric says this is all because Red never got Eric an Evel
Knievel Stunt Cycle as a kid. Flashback to six years earlier, Red
playing with a Stunt Cycle he's planning to give Eric, and Red accidentally
destroys it. Remembering that, Red gives the boys a pass, as long
as they wrap everything up and bring it to the party.
At the party, Red and Kitty stall as long as possible. The guys
climb to the roof of the building to sneak down the chimney. Eric
volunteers to go down, and falls down inside. The guys, having burned
Eric, climb back down and go in through the back door. Patty rushes
the opening of the curtain, and instead of an empty stage, it's
filled with toys (with Kelso putting the last one in place). Kitty
is honored by the LOPPs for doing such a great job. Hyde talks to
Jackie, hoping everything will blow over, but she's tired of his
immaturity and walks off, upset. And Bob and Patty leave together.
