Angie wants to learn how to “burn” one of the gang,
in an effort to fit in, but has a hard time doing so. Hyde confronts
Jackie on wanting to talk to him about their future. Jackie stumbles,
unable to tell Hyde that she still loves him and wants him back
(but she has confided this to Fez). Jackie announces that she’s
going to have her own access TV show. Red gives Eric a hard time
for not having any direction or goals in life. Donna and Fez help
Jackie set-up her TV show. Angie continues to have problems “burning”
people. Eric meets a guy named Stew Bailey, age 36, at the record
store who is a huge comic book fan and has a lot in common with
Eric. Hyde tries to get some information out of Fez regarding his
future with Jackie. Hyde suspects she might want to get back together.
Fez clumsily tries to cover. Jackie goes on the air for the first
time and it’s a total disaster. Eric and Stew hang out together,
talking about comics and Star Wars. Eric confides to Stew that he’s
worried about being unfulfilled for the rest of his life and not
having direction. Stew assures him that it’s all going to
be okay. Jackie deals with the ramifications of a having performed
so poorly on air and is worried about not being able to achieve
her dreams in television. Angie tries to “burn” Jackie
by cutting her hair, and Jackie exits the room screaming. Eric hangs
out at Stew’s house going over comic book trivia, and discovers
that Stew still lives with his Mother. Eric realizes that Stew represents
his directionless future and leaves not being able to deal with
it. Eric throws out all his comic books, in an attempt to change
his life – he can’t turn into another Stew. Jackie confides
in Eric that she’s worried about her future in television.
Eric cheers her up and assures her that she can do it. Hyde wonders
about his future with Jackie and confides in Eric. Fez begrudgingly
tells Hyde that Jackie still loves him. Jackie is late for her TV
show. Jackie comes into the studio late, but delivers a great show.
Kelso plays an expert correspondent on “Slut or Not.”
Angie comes out on camera and pulls Kelso’s pants down and
finally achieves her first successful “burn” on the
air. Hyde shows up after the show to confront Jackie. Jackie, excited
about her performance, is convinced that she’s going to do
great on her own. Hyde cowers and says, “I just wanted to
congratulate you on the show.” Kelso does another “Slut
or Not” piece, by going through the phone book incriminating
likely sluts.
