Eric has successfully filled out all his college applications
and the only thing he needs now is a financial statement to enroll
in college. Eric, however, learns that Red spent all his college
money on the muffler shop and now has nothing to show for it. Eric
has to figure out a way to pay his college tuition and Donna suggests
that he go visit their old high school guidance counselor, Mr. Bray.
Donna offers to go along and help. Kelso announces to the group
that he has to break up with Angie. Kelso tries to break up with
Angie, but has trouble mustering the courage when actually confronting
her. Donna and Eric go to Mr. Bray’s office, and to get the
best advice, initially pretend Donna needs the financial assistance
because Mr. Bray seems to show Donna preferential treatment, but
the ruse doesn’t last long. Angie announces to Jackie and
Hyde that she got a promotion and has to move to Milwaukee to run
the corporate office. Jackie and Hyde are upset that he was overlooked
for the promotion. Kelso asks Jackie for help with breaking up with
Angie. Eric announces to Red, Kitty and Donna that he has decided
to join a program where you can teach in an impoverished area for
a year and get all expenses paid for school, but the catch is --
you have to go to Africa.
Kitty forbids Eric going to Africa, but Red is happy about it.
Donna is also upset with Eric for not discussing this option with
her, before he made his decision. Hyde and Jackie confront W.B.
about passing him over for the promotion. W.B. says not to worry
that he is giving Hyde the record store. Kelso confronts Angie about
breaking up with her, but before he can say anything, Angie breaks
up with him. She says she’s moving to Milwaukee, and Kelso
is shocked. Eric goes over to talk to Donna. Eric says that he doesn’t
want to break up with her and that he’s going to Africa for
the year, so they can have a better future together.
