Charlie, the son of one of Red's army buddies is going to
be in town for a few days and Red invited him to stay with them.
He doesn't want Eric and his deviant friends corrupting Charlie.
Kitty is upset that Eric is going to Africa and passive-aggressively
takes out her anger on him, withholding bacon at breakfast. Jackie
got offered a job at a TV station in Chicago. She wants to take
the job, but she'll stay in Point Place if Hyde will ask her to
marry him. He doesn't want to talk about their future and doesn't
know what to say. Jackie tells Donna she's vulnerable now, waiting
for Hyde's response.
Donna tells Eric that since he's going to Africa, she's moving
on with her life, too, and she has a date with a guy from work.
He doesn't know what to say and is devastated -- not just at her
having a date, but also at not saying anything about it. Donna tells
Jackie she made the whole thing up to mess with Eric's head.
Charlie hangs out with Kelso and Fez and they mostly just make
fun of him, but then Charlie invites them to hang out in his dad's
beer warehouse. The guys and Charlie get wasted at the warehouse,
with Eric and Hyde trying to drink away their girl problems.
When the girls learn that the guys are out having fun instead of
agonizing over them, they get high together. But Jackie just reveals
more about how vulnerable she is, and how afraid she is Hyde will
say no. Back at the warehouse, Charlie reveals he's a virgin, Hyde
goes back and forth about what to do about Jackie, and Eric starts
worrying about what Donna's doing on her date.
Eric shows up to confront Donna, and Donna reveals she lied about
the date, but she should have been on one. She tells Eric she doesn't
want him to go. He says he'll be back in a year, it'll be hard for
both of them, but they should stop fighting. She agrees, they should
just enjoy the time they have left. Jackie enters, learns that Steven
is still passed out at the beer warehouse, and frets that he's not
coming, he's going to say no.
The next morning, the guys are hungover. Kitty tells Hyde that
Jackie left him a note. He reads it, it says she took the job and
left for Chicago. Kitty comforts him. Then the doorbell rings and
Kelso and Fez present Charlie in a dress to Red.
