Carrie
tells Shannon and Denise that for some time her love life just hasn't
been working out, and she isn't sure why. Kurt says he knows how
to solve her problem. Carrie says that guilt is one thing that stands
in the way of her having a good time. She and Shannon go to a bar
where she does her best to be outrageous and only humiliates herself,
but she stays and runs into Doug Palmer, a high school acquaintance
who definitely has improved since she saw him last, and she spends
the night with him. When Doug wants to see Carrie again and she
refuses because she has no feelings for him, she's wracked with
such guilt that even a trip to the outlet mall won't cure it. Ryan's
work schedule is changed, and he can't watch the baby, so Denise
drops Conner off, but when it's time to pick him up, she can't remember
who's baby-sitting. And when Kathy realizes that Carrie has something
on her mind, she says church might help; Carrie doesn't go to church,
but when Father Boyle comes to The Pelican, she decides a friendly
talk might be make her feel better.
